I love metaphors / cerebral design thing

I love metaphors. I love how “my heart is broken” is a well-cemented universality while hearts don’t literally break, people don’t actually “carry baggage” or give shoulders that are cold, as much as I love how a “trash can” icon means delete, a “shopping cart” to check out when we rarely use one beyond the supermarket, and even how “windows” “tabs” and “pages” aren’t exactly the words but leave lasting impressions and quickly adopted, because beyond being beautiful they’re also structurally/conceptually true. Wow! Across designing interactions and writing, I am often “on the hunt” for the next metaphor, the next memorable way to deliver a message, feeling, or concept, and usually that takes a lot of knowing: a lot of research, a lot of talking to people, a lot of executing methods that will fail but reveal more, all of which I enjoy.
